Who: Marisa D. Green of Studio Danae.

What: Illustration, design and photography.

When: After growing up in Linwood, a suburb of Boston, Marisa moved to the city where she earned her BFA in Illustration from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and began her freelance career by starting Studio Danae.

Where: Portland, Oregon—though her travels to Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, Canada, Mexico, and Costa Rica, remain a constant influence in her life and work.

Why: Because she loves documenting her experiences as well as helping you to express your ideas—whether it’s in a card, an illustration, a logo or a photo.

How: Inspired by her garden, family and friends, volunteering for Art on Alberta, cooking Italian fare, and listening to her favorite music*, she creates via sketchbooks, journals, computers and cameras.

The sum of all parts equals the whole.
